About Rose Diggs
Hi, my name is Rose!
I want to change the perception of the foster care system by addressing its weaknesses and shortcomings. I believe there are ways to keep families together so fewer children go into foster care. I want to create a system that helps families build stronger bonds.
I grew up in a household with many children who were not my siblings. I want to continue my parents’ work, who helped all children voluntarily and without receiving support.
My mother’s dream was to create functioning and effective orphanages, but she was unable to fulfill it due to health reasons. I decided to make it come true to honor her memory.
I have fostered over 250 children over a period of ten years. Before I became an approved foster parent, I helped other parents in need.
I am an advocate for foster and adoptive parents for Georgia Region 13, where I won the Foster Parent of the Year Award in 2018. I won the Amerigroup Healthy Hero Award in 2019 and the Amerigroup “Making a World of Difference” Superhero Award the following year.
